This focus rail really helped my Still Life and Macro photography

Tested this for some macro photography. Was surprised at the quality for the price. That said it is a bit rickety in some places. A good beginner focus rail but I feel like serious macro photographers would outgrow this quickly.

The only issue with this rail is that the 'quick release' to permit quick long distance sliding by hand doesn't work if the camera is in place. It works fine with no camera attached but that is not when one needs it.

Seems good quality and solid in general, but the reason I had to return it is that the direction the camera is pointing oscillates too much when you move it back and forth along the rail. If you’re using it for macro photography focus stacking, this is not good.

Works great on a tripod. For a manual rail it is everything you can ask for.

I wish the manufacturer had included a 1/4 - 3/8s adapter to mount the rail to my tripod. Commercially available adapters are too long and will interfere with the worm gear functionality.

Can't use rail yet because you failed to mention that the rail is a 3/8 mount and NOT the standard 1/4. Now I have to buy an adapter to use it.

I've had the product less than an hour. While the build and aesthetics look high quality, the actual function is horrible. The adjustment rail is not straight. So while trying to focus, the camera will raise and drop as the wheel is turned.This is absolutely crap and clearly there is no QC. Anyone turning the handle would feel it get tighter then looser.I was trying to save $100 by purchasing something this price instead of a level up. My mistake.
