Excellent indoor home camera for fun. For security, NOPE!
I receieved the camera, and connected it, and had it up in no time. I wanted to first use it on my testing wall to see how it will do in specific situations. The camera comes with a thin mounting plate that you screw in and then you just align the 2 teeth that grab onto and hold the camera in place. Now this is a decent option for a indoor space that the camera is not outdoors or in a place that someone can get access to...But if you are to use it in a outdoor or public or even front door, this camera can be removed with a simple twist, and snip, you have a $215 loss.So I thought that this MUST be some option for easy install, as this is a K10 vandal rated camera dome. WHo in the right mind would rate the dome and not the thin plastic bracket, or the fact that it is a twist off quarter turn to remove it!?Unless I totally missed something, and I certainly could have, this is a USELESS camera for security. I thought that this cant be! $215+ its a Hik Vision. They wouldn't make such a mistake. SO I opened the dome, by prying the black trim carefully, and undid the philips screws. I see that the PCB takes up the entire housing surface. This means I have no space to drill a hole and use a screw directly into the metal housing! FYI, the dome surround housing/cap with plexi dome is plastic. The case the sensor and pcb with motorized ptz sits is metal. Looking closer, there is one spot for a screw, but there are wires around it, and not unlikely to snag and catch one.I also notice that the center has a theaded tripod mount. So this can be screwed onto some post or mount. But what good does that do for ceiling mount on concrete or wood? Nothing, unless you recess a post into the wall??I used the "Customer Service" chat link and you get the generic help. It wasn't bad, as the person linked me to the manual, but this camera just doesnt offer a secure install. Shocking, but true...so far!So this is going back. Wasted time testing and now I have to go through the returning...which is easier than some.Pictures to come...ALSO seller mentioned that there will be a replacement mount to correct this issue. I will give 1 star for the support response, and if it get a mount in a shorter time I will also upgrade the overall rating of this camera....because, ut really is a great camera. The smoothest of all the PTZ models I have, and the zoom, everything is very smooth. Picture quality is great. Even with IR being out and above, I still get a reflection halo in the picture at night. This gets a little better as I lower the WDR. The ine thing I wish it had was audio over Ethernet.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE INSTALLING IT OUTSIDE WITH A BRACKET
I have bought 3 of these cameras and every single one of them leak water into the globe, it's amazing. I installed them all with a brand new bracket and they all leaked. Don't buy it if you are installing it outdoor with a bracket. I can't believe that a company like Hikvision would sell such terrible product. However if you are installing in under some time of protected area the picture is great and so it's the night vision pictures. But because of the problems I had I can't bring myself to give it more than one star.

It's pretty good overall
I replaced the old 2mp Dahua 4x with this for an upgrade in lux sensitivity and resolution. This has a similar physical size and field of view so it looked promising. The day quality is really good. No complaints there. I just have two main complaints about this camera. The night vision and mounting.Hikvision states a .001 lux for night mode. I feel like that's an overstated number. The night vision isn't terrible, but my old non-starlight Dahua was better. The IR built in isn't too helpful for outdoor use, probably ok for indoor. It causes some halo-ing when turned up to the highest setting. If you use this outdoor, it needs some additional lighting for a decent picture. The mount as someone else stated is pretty insecure. Just a quick twist and it comes off. No way to securely mount it. For home or maybe small office use, probably not an issue. But I wouldn't trust this in a high risk area like maybe an ally with known problems.Overall not a bad camera at all for $200. My dream camera is this cameras size, 4x ptz, darkfighter/starlight, and 4k. Those will probably be coming within a few years hopefully. Also, I'm using it with BlueIris and it works fine.

Leaks water. Don't buy this model.
Product leaks water like it's is it's job. Don't buy this camera. I've had 24 Hikvision cameras none have leaked but this model. Literal within 3 days of being out outside two of them have moisture. 1 died from water. If you are planning on using indoor it works fine.
