Very nice -- lots of uses for the adventurous handy (person).
Bought this to check out a basement perimeter drain that seemed clogged. Worked great, found the problem wasn't in the perimeter drain itself, but that some of the drywall framing was touching the wall and letting the seepage wick past the drain channel.I was too cheap to buy an articulated scope, but found a good compromise -- I attached to the end of a fish-tape (for pulling electrical wires), so I can extend this to its full length, and "fine tune" the position by pulling back and forth on the fishtape. I attached it with a few small cable ties, which hold it securely, but can be clipped off easily.I also used this to retrieve an item that had fallen into an open ventilation duct and then into the plenum. I attached a hook such that I could see exactly where the hook was relative to the item. It took 20 minutes to push-pull-spin the fish tape and grab the item, but then I pulled it the full 20' back out. (Fish tape is not good at rotations off less than 180degrees). During this time I beat the hell out of this poor this thing. Imagine trying to spin like a drill, 20' of fish tape that goes around a corner. tension builds until *snap* the wire tape violently uncoils. Some reviews comment on this being fragile, but the one I got is not fragile. At one point I thought I'd killed the poor thing -- the image went blank. But I just unplugged it and waited a few minutes, and it worked fine. I think maybe the device had overheated (it does get hot when the LED is 100%), so I then kept it at lowest light output possible. Without any ambient light, 10% is about the same as 100%, since the imaging software auto-adjusts the image brightness. Depth of field is better with higher output, though. Can't wait for the next chance to use this!

See Mobile App details and Simple Troubleshooting for Android below- Worked Great for my Needs!
I purchased the 7 Meter length version of this camera in late June, 2016. I connected it to the Galaxy Note 5 using a Samsung USB to Micro USB adapter (I tried third party adapters, and none would work except for Samsungs.)Original Purchase Reason: my immediate need was to access the AC vent door in my Camaro, which was stuck. This product was successful in identifying and resolving the issue- saving me $1,200 in costs as quoted by a dealership to rip apart my dash to get to the problem.Positive Aspects:-Length: Very glad I paid the extra few dollars for the 7M vs. the 5M length, it is great to have the additional 2M length.-LED Lighting: The lights are controlled by a dial on the USB end of the cable, and you can use any level of brightness between Off and Max.-Mobile App Access: I found 2 apps out of 4 that worked well for this light (I'll get to these later on)-Image quality was Good Enough: This is a 2MP camera (if you remember the quality of cell phone cameras in 2007, this is about the same.) I took a picture of my laptop screen on this review using the camera and attached it to this review. In short, if you need to see perfect detail, this is not the right item for you, but if you just need a general idea and can live with a fuzzy picture (which worked fine for me) then this will work just fine.Negative Aspects:-Unable to Control Lighting via App: The dial for the Light is great, but there have been a few times when I would have preferred to let the App control the Light (On/Off). Of course, the manufacturer could not have built it to work with both the dial and the App Control in one unit. I would say the control of the brightness by using the dial was better for my initial need, as the max bright caused to much of a glare inside the AC vent.-Camera not centered on end of cable: The manufacturing of the camera was not very good. The lens is off center at the end of the cable, and actually overlapping a few of the LEDs. I am not too worried about it for my purposes, but the alignment does remind me of a 2 year old trying to glue an eyeball onto a stuffed bear...-Attachments (Hook, Mirror, ...): Yeah, these were un-impressive. Hard to work, not very good quality, etc. I would not have bought it if those were the primary need.-Flimsy Cable: It would have been nice to have a stronger cable. This one is tough to guide around bends, etc. I have thought of taping a hanger or some stiff coax cable to the final 2M of it to provide more control.Apps:-I tried 4 different apps on my phone to control the camera. 2 did not work at all, and 2 did work... but required some adjustments before responding.Note: When you open these apps for the first time & have the camera plugged in, a Pop-Up will appear asking you to give the App permission to control the USB device. I'd recommend checking the box that remembers your choice before hitting "OK".CameraFi (Play Store- Free but has in-App purchases): This app, of the two that worked, had the best Settings and Controls, BUT you have to go to Settings first to select the "USB 2.0 Camera" before you will see the image. I would advise to transition the "Video Size" to "1280X1024, YUYV, 7 FPS" for better clarity if your phone has a hard time catching up to the live feed. I even shifted to the "1600X1200, YUYV, 3 FPS" and had decent quality, but too few frames to work with when moving through a vent. Regardless, if you want an app that gives you better controls to manage the phones processor and imaging results, I found this app was best. Additionally, it has 2 "Plug-Ins" that you can buy within the app: On-Screen Ruler & Watermark Removal (they have a watermark attached to any pic/vid you take on the free version).MScopes (Free on Play Store): After giving it permission to access the camera, another pop-up from the App will appear asking you to select USB Web Camera. HIT REFRESH first, then OK. I've found that for some reason, it won't recognize the camera feed if you just hit OK. Also, if you ever go into the app and nothing appears, unplug the camera while the App is still active, then plug it back in. This app has better color and contrast controls on the main screen. Additionally, it has a handy little "180 degree" button that allows you to flip the feed over instead of trying to twist the camera more while it is inside of something. The Flashlight button will not work, as discussed earlier, and you can't adjust the resolution or the FPS (at least that I have found) with the free version; however, according tot he play store, of you buy the $0.99 "Pro" version, it becomes watermark free, you gain Pinch to Zoom, adjust the resolution (still no FPS though), more color controls, among other things. In the end, the Apps and connecting it to a phone were the two areas that took the most time, which is why I felt the need to add the details of the apps and the mobile issues I ran into.

good camera.
This camera does work ok. I have played with it a couple times. I tried to use it to see if there was a problem with the seal for the toilet, but just wouldn't go around the one bend. Where it did fit though it gave me a very nice clear picture, even through the water. I do plan on trying it in a floor drain very soon that we are having a problem with and I hope it works better on that. The only disappointment I have is that it will not work with my phone or tablet, only my laptop. But I don't hold the manufacturer of this product responsible for that, It 's not their fault the maker of my phone doesn't support it.

versitile flexible camera
I bought this to see inside a wall to replace a hose bib that was soldered into the wall plumbing. What I thought was neat about it was that it connected to my laptop, so it was inexpensive, and produced a large picture on the laptop. It can get into some tight places; inside a cylinder if one removes the spark plug, or up a fireplace chimney, or behind something that is hard to move. I have had this camera several years now and it works well.

Cable is like a limp noodle :(
The good, for the price it has a ok picture. The camera software is very simple and basic, but it does the job.The bad, the cable is way way way too flimsy. I got the 15m one and its so soft a cable you cannot do anything with it. If you are buying this to run thru anything that is not straight down then I would look else where. Even straight up is impossible as the cable is just totally limp. I would compare it to like a USB cord cable as far as softness.
